Summary

Responsible for assisting Project Managers and Operations with job costs.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Analyze and accurately update project budgets based on information from Operations
  • Communicate effectively between Operations and Accounting; being able to assist operations in adjusting budgets based on the best accounting process for each situation
  • Assist in preparation of job billings
  • Prepare monthly accounts receivable and cost over billings updates for management
  • Set up cost codes for field use in reporting time and quantities
  • Research discrepancies from vendors and present to Project Managers with resolution outlined
  • Assist Project Managers in researching costs on jobs and accuracy of information
  • Prepare and enter journal entries to projects to correct or account for costs in projects
  • Work with Estimating Assistant on setting up new projects in Accounting Software
  • Organize and distribute Subcontractor invoices and verify costs are accounted for
  • Distribute accounts payable invoices for coding and approval, if needed
  • Code daily trucking tickets as needed
  • Process subcontractor payments and assist in the lien waiver process
  • Work closely with Office Manager during month end close process

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Must have good organization skills
  • Must be quick to adapt and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Viewpoint/Vista essential
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
