  1. Review manufacturing processes and specifications to assure contract compliance.
  2. Evaluate and accept / reject criteria for area(s) of responsibility.
  3. Train hourly quality monitors as necessary.
  4. Review quality procedures and CVIS to assure department adheres to AMG policies. Review and keep up-to-date with procedures related to area(s) of responsibility.
  5. Communicate defects / deficiencies to inspection and manufacturing personnel.
  6. Oversee calibration system, tools and dimensional lab and technicians.
  7. Quality support for plant manufacturing torque & risk-based error proofing.
  8. Assist SQE on part issues as need arises.
  9. Initiate EAR's when change to product is necessary.
  10. Perform build and quality problem solving using Practical Problem Solving and Lean Six Sigma methods.
  11. Manage containment to permanent resolution for Supplier and Engineering non-conformances.
  12. Lead and manage Quality System changes supporting new model and engineering change.
  13. Leadership and support for Quality Plan Deployment, Integrated Product Team (IPT), Product Development Teams (PDT). Engineering Change Notice (ECN), Engineering-Try-Out and Production-Trial-Run review and approval.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related technical field.
  2. ASQ certification a plus.
  3. 2- 5 years of experience in automotive, defense or manufacturing related field preferred.
  4. Familiarity with ISO-9001or ISO/TS-16949 preferred.
  5. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, CMM inspection methods and FARO equipment.
  6. Knowledge of fasteners, torque tools and joint design.
  7. Experience in problem solving and problem-solving methodology.
  8. Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Applications, including familiarity with Sharepoint and Teamcenter.


Physical Effort:

Limited required physical activity.

Must be able to physically support a manufacturing environment through evaluation of on the floor issue resolution and problem solving.

Travel - Occasional travel may be required.

Extended hours to support increased production may be required on occasion.

Working Conditions:

 Office environment with moderate exposure to a manufacturing environment that requires necessary safety precautions be understood and adhered to.
