Join our Sales Team! We are looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customers focused sales team, and are currently recruiting for a Route Sales Professional to work out of Indianapolis, IN. The most important responsibility of this position requires the Sales Professional to maximize route sales and route growth by selling a variety of quality products to current and potential customers within their assigned territory. This individual acts as the sole and primary sales contact to all Utz retailers/customers within a specific area and visits them frequently on a regular basis in order to sell and fulfill sales.  Consistent with our “customer-first” philosophy, our Sales Professionals are also accountable for providing excellent customer service and ensuring high customer satisfaction in order to promote the sale of Utz products.

Route Sales Professional

  • Directly Responsible for sales activity within an assigned territory/route

  • Visits our customers’ place of business on a regular basis to sell and perform sales-related activities strategically designed to enhance or maximize product purchases by Utz customers and their respective consumers

  • Assesses on-site product inventory and determines recommended sales/purchase quantities and varieties of product necessary to maintain adequate product presence

  • Assesses geographic and demographic product/sales needs to enhance sales

  • Upsells and introduces new Utz products as appropriate to new and current customers

  • Identifies existing opportunities and new in-store product locations for increased product visibility and to motivate customers towards additional product purchases

  • Participates in the negotiation of product prices

  • Solicits, processes, and instantly fulfills product orders associated with his or her sales

  • Actively searches, solicits, and develops new customer accounts within a specific territory

  • Observes sales trends and reports provides company local market intelligence

  • Constantly searches for and identifies new ways to increase and improve sales metrics

  • Develops strong rapport with all customers and key decision makers in order to sway them towards buying more types and amounts of Utz products

  • Negotiates product placement and location for new and existing Utz products for sale with appropriate customer personnel

  • Regularly lobbies for prime or more desirable shelf space and product location to maximize product visibility and increase overall sales volume

The ideal candidate must have prior sales experience (two years of prior sales experience and knowledge of the snack food business is highly preferred), hold a valid driver’s license, be at least 19 years of age, and successfully complete the Utz’s Sales Certification Program (USCP). An active sales or solicitor’s license may be also be required (requirement varies by territory). Sales Professional must also be able to operate a step van in a safe and competent manner and pass the Utz Defensive driving program. All Route Sales Professional must also be able to lift, carry, and transport products for sale into customer locations through the use of a hand truck after consummating their sales.
